The One Community Bike Path program began in 2019 with a goal to provide a path towards stable employment for individuals who are formerly incarcerated, non-college bound young people, or veterans who are looking to join the workforce. Establishing a coalition with Bike New York, Citi Bike and with the support from the Office of City Council Majority Leader Laurie Cumbo, the program provides a path from basics in bike mechanic training with Bike New York to employment opportunities at Citi Bike.
