One Community began with a simple belief: Fort Greene and Clinton Hill have everything needed for everyone to thrive when neighbors and institutions unite.

When the pandemic hit, longtime resident and attorney Jed Marcus saw urgent needs for food and connection. He brought together local resources, coordinated deliveries, and mobilized neighbors to support seniors and families. What started as a grassroots effort quickly grew into a strong network that connects the community’s strengths to its greatest challenges.

Today, One Community partners with over 20 local organizations to reach the neighborhoods’ most vulnerable residents.
Jed Marcus
Jed Marcus is a lifelong Fort Greene resident and principal attorney at Marcus Attorneys with nearly 50 years of experience in law, real estate, and nonprofit leadership.

When COVID-19 exposed urgent needs around food insecurity and social isolation, especially for seniors and public housing residents, Jed stepped up.

Deeply rooted in Fort Greene for over 45 years, Jed is driven by a commitment to equity, empowerment, and building a connected community where everyone has access to the resources and support they need to thrive.
