Eyewitness News ABC7NY caught up with the Sharing Network group Let's Talk for their first in person meeting. Though they've talked on the phone for almost 10 months during the pandemic, these women never knew what the others looked like - until now. Read more in the BK Reader, too.
On August 25th, One Community graduated the first ever class of Free Wheelin' - our youth bike repair and maintenance program. 8 young people, mostly women, learned to fix up a bike and keep it running like new. Everyone took home their bike at the end of the class to ride into another adventure. Read more in the BK Reader.
The New York Times featured One Community's partnership with Rossi Pharmacy and CHFG Mutual Aid to deliver 150 seniors their first dose of Covid-19 vaccine at the Ingersoll Community Center. The Wall Street Journal podcast "The Journal" also visited the site to report how One Community is meeting the needs of those left behind in our community in the state's vaccination push.
The BK Reader wrote about our Second Dose pop-up event on 4/10/2021, and how we successfully worked to increase vaccinations among seniors and combat misinformation about vaccines.
